Basic instructions on how to scan to email
Below are some basic instructions on how to scan to email using a Canon uniFLOW copier.
---------------------------------
Log into the Copier with your PIN code or PPS ID Badge (if it is already registered to your uniFLOW account).
Tap Scan.
Select which destination you would like the scan to go to. For this example, we will opt for "Scan to Myself" which will send the scan to our PPS email address.
For higher volume page scans (30-50+ pages) you should opt for "Scan to Google Drive." This is the best choice for larger scans which will have larger file sizes.
Adjust the settings as needed and tap on the Scan button to begin the scanning process.
The DPI resolution setting change be adjusted at this drop down menu. 300X300 is the default. A small number will result in a smaller file size at reduced scan quality.
Some terms to be aware of are:
Simplex - Single sided scans
Duplex - Double sided scans
- Tap the Next button when you are finished to complete the Scan process.
---------------------------------
Key things to keep in mind:
There is a general email attachment file size limitation of 25MB. If an attachment is greater than that, the email will likely bounce back to the sender.
You can adjust the DPI from 300x300 to a smaller number in an attempt to decrease the total file size of the PDF being created.
If someone is scanning 30-50+ pages, they should opt to save to their Google Drive as opposed to "Scan to Myself" (scan to email).
